Confusing Adults…
My Mom and I volunteered at bingo night last Friday at school and when we got there I found out my Mom was helping with registration and I was supposed to help with cookies. My mom took me to the cafeteria and I saw the woman behind the long table with cookies. I told the lady I am not really hungry. My mom said-you are not volunteering to eat all the cookies-you are helping her pass them out. The adults laughed. That made me a little frustrated. There wasn’t anyone else in there yet-so what else was I supposed to think I was going to do with those cookies?
Then this past weekend, my Mom was going downstairs and said-I’m running out to the mailbox, hold down the fort. I ran to the top of the stairs and asked-what does that mean-hold down the fort? She said it means guard the house. I said from what? She said just stay inside-I’ll be right back. Well why didn’t she just say that? Adults are confusing.
